Harp-Builder Meets Mate Through FARM SHOW
After 35 years of opening mail from FARM SHOW readers, I had a “first” recently when I was invited to the wedding of Christina Marshall and Steven Woodgate, who met through the pages of this magazine.
We did a story on Christina 9 years ago (Vol. 29, No. 2) about the business she started at just 16 years old making harps out of wood that she sawed herself on a sawmill her father built. In addition to building harps, she is a professional harpist.
“A year or so ago, Steve saw a reprint of your article in one of your ‘best of’ issues and contacted me. We started talking and, long story short, we’ll be married on Dec. 28th, 2013,” Christina told me. “I will be moving my business from Central Illinois to Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., and will continue to operate my studio – just in a new location.”
I was not able to attend the wedding but I wish them all the best in their new life together. Christina is one of the most remarkable young women we’ve ever interviewed. (www.ninasmusic.com)
