Another Air Powered Driver
A commercially available steel post driver is being manufactured and marketed by Kluhsman Farm and Machine, Lockwood, Mo.Called the Thumper, it weighs 40 lbs. and operates on 40 to 80 psi. Its striking hammer weighs 28 lbs. and is powered by air pressure to pound posts into even the hardest soil, says the manufacturer.
The driver locks onto standard "t" posts and has two control handles that you must pull down for it to operate. One handle controls the air pressure valve; the other is a safety lock.
The Thumper sells for $349.
