Forage funnel aligns silo blower, fill pipe CROP STORAGE Silos (50) 10-6-16 The new "Forage Funnel", manufactured by D.C. Atlas Co., Loyal, Wis., makes it easy to connect the silo blower spout to the telescoping quick pipe.
Its narrow end bolts to the standard 9-in. dia. telescoping fill pipe section and its wide end (14-in. in dia.) slips down over the blower spout. Fitting snugly over the spout, the funnel does away with the need to jockey the blower into precise position to connect the fill pipe.
The company notes that air loss isn't a problem. In fact, the funnel fits snug enough so that farmers even use it on blowers to fill 90-ft. silos, the manufacturer points out.
Besides being easy to attach, the Forage Funnel makes it easy to lift the pipe off if the blower plugs.
