Iowan Creates Look Alike Dolls
"There aren't very many cabbage patches in Iowa, but there are plenty of cornfields," says Joanne Kuster, Indianola, Iowa, marketer of personalized "Cornfield Kid" dolls.
The 20-in. dolls are custom-made out of a machine-washable soft fabric and have hand-painted faces so you can order a Cornfield Kid that looks like one of your children or grandchildren. To order a "look-alike" you specify the doll's features, including eye and hair color, hair style, sex, dimples and freckles.
The "look-alike" doll created for you comes complete with a diaper, removeable western wear, shoes and a corn sticker on its heart.
Each Cornfield Kid comes with a hybrid number on its bottom, and a production record certifying the date it was delivered, its weight, maturity date and personalized with the name of the "farmer" who'll nurture it to be a fully developed "stalk."
Cornfield Kids sell for $41, plus postage.
