Electric Barn Broom LIVESTOCK Buildings 5-3-24 Tired of pushing a broom down your barn alleys and mangers every day? With a new electric barn broom from Agro-Power, Fond du Lac, Wis., you can sweep 200 ft. of barn, 8 ft. wide, in just 10 minutes with practically no labor at all.
A 12-V battery powers the Agro-Power broom. The rechargeable battery works for about a week on a charge. Best of all, it's quiet and produces no gas fumes or sparks.
The broom sweeps left to right in a 30-in. swath and has proven to be especially popular with dairymen for cleaning gutter grates.
The brushes are expected to last about 2 years and can be replaced through Agro-Power. They're designed to operate close to walls and pen fences. Since both brushes turn in the same direction at high speeds, the nylon bristles are essentially self-cleaning.
Sells for $795, including a battery charger.
