"Low Tech" Liquid Manure Applicator MANURE HANDLING Equipment 23-2-27 This "low tech" liquid manure applicator got a lot of attention at the RAI Show in Amsterdam because of the low price and the simplicity of the design.
It eliminates a lot of hoses, knives and other components on most liquid applicator rigs. Manure simply flows through a hose to a trough that's fitted with a row of angled downspouts. Manure fills the width of the trough and then flows out evenly to the downspouts.
Each downspout is fitted with a knife that cuts a slot for the manure to flow into.
The company says the design eliminates the need for meters, hoses, and toolbars with shanks. It's available in sizes from 10 to 20 ft. wide. Prices range from about $3,500 to $8,500.
