The hand-held unit simply hooks up to a garden hose. It has a shampoo reservoir under the handle. You control the selection of shampoo or rinse by simply turning a small lever with your thumb. Shampoo is sucked out of the reservoir by venturi action of the water. The nozzle is designed to get under hair to thoroughly clean the skin. Strength of spray can be easily controlled.
