The electric-powered hay knife weighs just 30 lbs. and will quickly cut through bales (either horizontally or vertically) with little noise and without stirring up a cloud of dust. It uses a single phase motor and has a safety device fitted to the starter switch to prevent damage to the operator from a "runaway" saw. The saw can also be used for cutting out blocks of silage in a trench or pile. Blades remove for quick sharpening or replacement.
