Compactor Wheels Level Ground Beneath Tractor
"They let you work at an even depth behind big tractors," says the manufacturer of new front-mounted compactor wheels that level the ground beneath the tractor between compacted tracks of tractor tires. The wheels mount on a frame that attaches to most 2 and 4-WD tractors. By leveling out the ground behind the tractor, the company says you prevent dirt build-up in tillage equipment and seed at a more even depth across the width of the tractor's travel path.
Down pressure of the compactor wheels can be adjusted hydraulically. They'll apply enough pressure to raise the front end of the tractor off the ground. Wheels can be linked to the tractor's steering system.
Compactor wheels are available in 5 to 6-ft. working widths.
