"Bloodless" Castrator Works Fast, Easy
The Band-It lets you raise beef or dairy calves as late-castrated bulls. With animals standing in a chute, the tool is used to loop and tie surgical latex tubing tight around the scrotum, just above the testicles. Blood circulation is stopped immediately.
The tool can be used with one hand. It's made from stainless steel and comes with pre-assembled clips and bands that are ready to use. You place the tool in your left hand and place the clip into a slot on the tool. The band is held between the first and second fingers. Pull the stretched tubing around the scrotum and lock it down into the corner of a "T" slot on the clip. Then release the clip from the tool.
"It takes only about 10 seconds to apply," says Stephen Fairbanks.
Sells for $29. The bands come in packages of 25 and sell for $21.25 per package.
