18-Ft Long Hoist Built Out Of 8-In. I-Beam
✖ |
Jack & Dave Wock, Jerseyville, Ill.: Jack and Dave built this 18-ft. long hoist out of a piece of 8-in. I-beam. What makes it unique is that it pivots 180? on an anchor post at the middle of the wall on one side of the shop. That lets them move it out of the way when it's not being used. Also, loads can be carried off to the side of the shop when needed.
"The hoist is 14 ft. high and rides on a couple of heavy steel wheels."
