Trailer-Mounted "Refuel Tank" MISCELLANEOUS EQUIPMENT Miscellaneous 26-5-32 Doug Eley of Zearing, Iowa, refuels his tractor and combine in the field using a 300-gal. fuel barrel mounted on a two-wheeled trailer.
The rig's pump is powered by a 30-ft. long cable that hooks up to the tractor or combine battery. The cable is stored in a toolbox that mounts on front of the trailer. Eley pulls the rig behind his 1/2-ton pickup.
"I bought it several years ago for $110 from a local farmer. It works great," says Eley. "It also comes in handy when pumping out pits on a big hog farm where I work. I use the fuel tank to refuel tractors that pto-drive the pumps. It eliminates the need to pull the pumps out of the pits every time we have to refuel."
