Compost-Bagging Machine
The Go-Bagger from Rotochopper can fill about 240 2-cu. ft. bags per hour. It only takes about 5 min. to get the machine up and running, and, because it's portable, you can put it to work wherever and whenever you want. One person can run it but for maximum production, a two or three-person crew is recommended.
At 2,600 lbs., the portable machine can be towed by any truck or car. Monte Hight, sales manager, adds that you wouldn't want to haul it with the hopper full.
It's powered by a 20 hp Honda 13,000-watt generator and a 2 hp Dewalt air compressor. It features a 24-in. plastic bag sealer.
Because it is a gravity fed machine, it can't bag wood shavings or other light weight materials. But it'll bag compost, mulch, soil, sand, corn, beans or almost anything else.
The Go-Bagger costs about $31,000 and for $8,000, a full-length agitator/beater can be added to the hopper. Hight says you'd only need this to keep soil from hardening.
The machine comes with supply bags and the company will assist with finding the best supplier.
