Home-Built Engine Hoist
✖ |
Pat Prom, Eden Prairie, Minn.: "I used 1/4-in. thick scrap metal to build my own 5 1/2-ft. high engine hoist. The hoist is raised and lowered by a 5-in. dia., 3-ton hydraulic cylinder. I use it to lift engines and transmissions out of cars and to raise the front end of garden tractors so I can change the mower blades. Anyone wanting to build a hoist for use with trucks and tractors would want to build a little bigger hoist."
