Geo Metro Engine In Deere 214
He installed a right angle gearbox behind the engine to drive the tractor's rear end.
"The Geo engine is aluminum so it probably doesn't weigh any more than the tractor's original engine," says Prom. "I paid $200 to have the valves ground. It was a very tight fit. I had to make a new gas tank, and I had to move the battery back under the seat to make room for the distributor.
"I installed straight pipes so the engine isn't all that quiet. It sounds a lot like an airplane," notes Prom.
