Tow-Behind Garbage Bins
"My driveway is 1 1/2 blocks long, so when my garbage container gets full it's quite a job to haul it to the end of the driveway, even though the container rides on a pair of wheels. That's why I decided to come up with a quick hitch bracket that lets me use my ATV to pull the container down to the road," says Dan Jacobson, Pequot Lakes, Minn.
The bracket consists of two parts. One part bolts to one side of the container. The other part is a 3-ft. long tongue that fits over the ball hitch on the ATV.
"I just tow the container to the end of the driveway. I can pull it with any vehicle equipped with a ball hitch."
The bracket is made out of tubular steel. Jacobson says he spent about $65 to build it.
