First-Of-Its-Kind Cornhead COMBINES Headers 33-6-5 Photos of this new combine head came across my desk right before this issue went to press. Keven Markt was frustrated because his steep terraces had limited him to an 8-row header. So he finally came up with a design for a 12-row flexing head that lets him use the full capacity of his Deere combine, even on the most uneven ground. Each wing of the head can raise or lower 18 in. automatically, as needed, thanks to the Headsight header control system Markt used. A limited number of the new headers will be available in 2010.
