3-Pt. Mounted Wire Fence Unroller FENCING Miscellaneous 34-1-20 Handling large rolls of woven wire can be difficult and awkward. That's what prompted Ray Rodriguez, Rindge, N.H., to design a 3-pt. mounted woven wire unroller.
"It's unbelievable how easy it makes the job. One person can put up a woven wire fence in a fraction of the time it takes by hand and with much less effort," says Rodriguez. "It'll handle woven wire fence from 4 to 8 ft. tall."
The unroller is made from a piece of 2-in. dia. pipe and two round steel plates - one bolted down and one left free to turn with the wire as the tractor goes along. In places where the tractor can't go, you can easily pull the wire off the unroller by hand.
A crank-operated winch is used to tilt the spindle down to a horizontal position on the ground, making it easy to load the roll of fence onto the spindle. Then you crank the spindle back up into place.
A gear system under the bottom plate controls the tension of the fence as it unrolls off the spindle. A brake locking system keeps the spindle from moving, allowing the fence to be stretched tight.
Sells for $1,200 plus S&H.
