Specialized Equipment For Your Farm Shop
"If you don't agree it's the best stand you ever bought, return it in 60 days for a full refund of your money," says Bob Cofer, of Cofer Sales and Manufacturing, Dodge City, Kan. The utility stand, one of many specialized pieces of shop equipment the company has introduced, is tailor-made for tearing down tractors and combines. It has up to 3,000 lbs. capacity and handles a wide variety of jobs, including taking off heavy oil pans, handling heavy and awkward transmissions, taking front ends off tractors, handling axles assemblies, and for use as a splitting stand for tractors. The stand adjusts from 12 in. in the low position to 36 in. in the high position. Its table tilts up to a 75? angle. When not in use, the stand tips up on one end to cut down on space needed to store it. It's equipped with a replaceable 8-ton mechanical jack and retails for right at $445.
Cofer also offers other specialized shop equipment, including:
Single tire adapter: It helps support the axle assembly when bringing it out in one piece with the tire. With the use of one hydraulic jack and telescoping adjustments, you can tilt the tire, if needed, to line up the axle
assembly when putting it back together.
Tire cart: It's designed to handle wheels, weights and axle assemblies. Handles all tires. Cabs and fenders don't hamper use of the cart.
Dual tire adapter: It fits on Cofer's single tire cart. One man can quickly attach the adaptor to the tire cart and be ready to take off a set of duals with the final drive housing. Rated at 8,000 lbs. capacity.
Shop crane: Rated at 2,000 lbs. capacity, it makes it possible for one man to handle seat assemblies, motors, blocks, heads, setting up machinery and many other jobs around a shop. The 6 in. stroke of the built-in 121/2 ton jack moves the boom from 2 to 9 ft. high. The boom and legs are adjustable for more support and stability.
Hydraulic press: Its heavy duty frame handles any size jack up to 30 tons. Put a 12 ton jack in it for little jobs, like water pumps and smaller bearings, and a 20 ton or larger jack for the larger jobs. Available with jacks, or you can use your own up to 35 tons capacity.
