Tilt-A-Hitch Makes Trailer Loading Easy
Lane Smith designed and built a tilting trailer hitch to load a low hot rod on his trailer. The Sema award winning Tilt-A-Hitch is now sold in Austrailia. Since being discovered by FARM SHOW, the Tilt-A-Hitch has been seen on several TV shows. It has been on Fox Sports and on ESPN, and in dozens of magazines.
To tilt a trailer, lower the trailer jack to support the load, remove the blue pin, crank the jack up, and the trailer back tilts down for easy loading and unloading.
Smith initially built the Tilt-A-Hitch to haul his radical, 604 cubic inch, blown ’32 coupe on a trailer behind his Kenworth motor home. Despite adding boards and blocks to extend the ramp, the angle was too steep to load the coupe. Tilt-A-Hitch solved the problem.
“I overbuilt the Tilt-A-Hitch to be bullet proof,” Smith says. The Tilt-A-Hitch is made of 1/4 in. and 5/16 in. steel, and mounts to any 2-in. receiver. It has a powder coat finish, weighs 34 lbs. and is rated for 8,000-lb. loads. Smith is offering a Christmas special (until Dec. 31, 2010) at $129.95 + shipping. Ask about the 12-volt electric jack option.
Smith is interested in adding more dealers.
