“Mini Loader” Built For Deere Garden Tractor
“I built this mini loader for my Deere 318 garden tractor, mainly to lift heavy objects up into my pickup but also to move snow. I had no plans or specifications of any kind when I built it, just some photos from various other front-end loaders I found on the internet,” says Steve Nichols, Galesburg, Ill.

“Mini Loader” Built For Deere Garden Tractor TRACTORS Loaders “I built this mini loader for my Deere 318 garden tractor mainly to lift heavy objects up into my pickup but also to move snow I had no plans or specifications of any kind when I built it just some photos from various other front-end loaders I found on the internet ” says Steve Nichols Galesburg Ill
“The loader operates off the 318’s standard onboard hydraulic system It worked very well removing snow this past winter As the photos show I didn’t get time to finish painting the tractor before cold weather set in ”
According to Nichols the loader doesn’t interfere with the tractor’s belly-mounted mower deck or the ability to open the tractor’s hood
“It really comes in handy I’ve even used it to pull steel posts out of the ground ” says Nichols “I built everything from scratch except for the ‘boomerang’ shaped lift arms A local fabricating shop cut the arms out with a laser cutter ”
