Fold-Up Awnings Follow The Sun
The heavy gauge aluminum awnings are designed to block most of the sun's direct rays, yet allow ample diffused light to enter, according to the company's president, Glen Lemke.
The awnings can be custom-built for any window, including Anderson type fold-out windows. Lemke suggests that the awnings be installed to cover the top half of the window, which generally makes the house up to 20? cooler in the summer, he points out.
The awnings can be set up to crank in and out from either the inside or outside of the house.
They're enamel-coated and available in a variety of colors. A 36 in. wide awning with four louvers costs about $85. Lemke provides free assistance in custom fitting awnings to special housing requirements.
