Propane-Powered, Portable Tankless Hot Water Heater

"Our new portable, tankless hot water heater rides on a 2-wheeled dolly and operates off a standard 20-gal. propane tank. It comes with a 25-ft. coiled flexible hose and spray nozzle, allowing you to wash objects with hot water anywhere there's water pressure," says inventor Atlee Yoder, Trail Livestock, Millersburg, Ohio. "You can even take a hot shower with it while camping. An optional 12-volt water pump can provide you with hot water even if you don't have water pressure."
The E-Z Tankless water heater comes with a metal basket on front to store the propane tank, which hooks up to a gas burner inside a tank that's used to heat the water. Cold water travels through a standard garden hose that hooks up to an inlet at the bottom of the tank.
"Amish farmers in our area use it to wash off horse buggies, but it also comes in handy for many other jobs such as cleaning livestock barns and washing vehicles, driveways, and so forth. Some people take it to fairs where they use it to wash livestock or clean trailers," says Yoder.
"The optional 12-volt water pump is operated by a battery that rides alongside the propane tank. It comes in handy when you want to pull water out of a creek."
Water can be heated up to about 140 degrees Fahrenheit, but the temperature can be adjusted. The unit provides up to 4 gpm. "A 20-lb. propane tank will last 5 to 10 hrs., depending on how much water you use," says Yoder.
The E-Z tankless water heater without the 12-volt water pump sells for $599 plus S&H. The pump sells for $212 plus S&H; $245 with pump and battery.
