“Reefer” Engines Make Low-Cost Gensets
Low hour Kubota engines repurposed from reefer trailers are paired with new generators to make low cost gensets. Gensets are also avaliable with new engines if preferred.
In the case of the used engines, they’re stripped down and component parts are replaced, such as wiring, air cleaner assemblies, oil filters, new radiators, etc. The gensets look brand new by the time they’re ready for sale.
These are solid, compact units with a proven track record. There are hundreds of units in service around the country with very few problems. They are designed to be used as prime power day after day. A common size is the 25KW model, which is priced at $5,650.
