I have a Ford F-350 with a 2 ½-in receiver hitch so I use a sleeve adaptor so our 2-in ball hitch will work properly But each time I pulled the 2-in hitch out to change the ball size the sleeve would move and pinhole would be misaligned “In order to solve both the noise problem and the alignment problem I drilled and tapped a ½-in hole in the bottom of the receiver and through the sleeve adaptor Then I installed a short ½-in bolt in the new hole When the bolt is screwed in a short way it holds the sleeve in place and when you screw it all the way in it stops the rattle ”
