ATV/UTV Hydraulic V-Plow

The 245-lb. V-Plow XT from BOSS Products uses a skid-plate style mounting system that bolts directly to the frame of the machine, and can V-plow, scoop, windrow or straight plow your snow with your ATV or mid-size UTV. Hydraulic cylinders adjust moldboard halves independently to just the angle you want.
Retract both cylinders and ends move back 30 degrees for a 58 1/2-in. wide V-plow action or tip both forward 30 degrees for a 56 3/4-in. snow scoop. Angle the full blade up to 30 degrees and windrow a 57 1/8-in. swath to one side. Straighten to push the full width of the 66-in. moldboard blade and then tip the blade upward as much as 30 degrees at the end of the run for effective snow stacking.
Blades are 18 3/8-in. high on the insides and 23 3/16-in. high on the outside and flared forward to send snow away from the ATV/UTV. Blades are equipped with protective curb guards and a full blade tripping mechanism.
The 14-ga. steel blade skin on each moldboard half is reinforced with four vertical ribs and one diagonal rib on each half. The ribs are welded to the skin and a rectangular steel bottom panel. The steel panel also reinforces the steel cutting edges on the moldboard.
“Hydraulic cylinders (1 1/2-in. bore, 6 1/4-in. stroke) that adjust the moldboard halves are pinned to the bottom panel,” says Steinbrecher. “A third hydraulic cylinder (1.77-in. bore with 4.5-in. stroke) lifts the full blade.”
The enclosed hydraulic system is powered by its own electric pump tied into the 4-wheeler’s electrical system. It has a maximum draw of 124 amps at 1200 psi. It’s fixed to the plow and attaches and detaches with it.
The hydraulics can be controlled on an ATV by a push bar on the handle, with one tab for each cylinder. UTVs can use the BOSS SmartTouch 2 keypad.
Prices may vary slightly by dealer for the V-Plow XT. However, online distributor www.crysteeltruck.com lists the ATV V-XT for $3,694. The mid-size UTV V-XT is listed at $3,841. All prices are without assembly.
A 6-ft., 6-in. V-XT is available for full-size UTVs. It is priced at $4,221 and requires a sub-frame-style mounting system. A universal UTV push beam bolts to the subframe.
Mounting systems are manufactured by BOSS and are machine-specific.
