Clip steep hillsides and grass choked canal bottoms with a rotary cutter designed to fit mini excavators. The Mini MX Bushmaster rotary cutters clean up problem areas fast. They are ideal for bank mowing, trail management and landscape maintenance. The hot-dipped, galvanized attachment stands up to even the toughest saltwater conditions.
“We bulletproof our rotary cutters, or we would be chasing problems every day,” says Mike Minyard, Ace Manufacturing & Distributing, maker of Bushmaster cutters. “They’re designed to live in a harsh environment. We have them working all over the U.S. They are especially popular in coastal areas from Louisiana to Nova Scotia because saltwater doesn’t bother them.”
Bushmaster cutters were introduced for use with skid steers more than 20 years ago. Later the company started making them for mini excavators.
Three models are available. The 42-in. deck fits 7,000 to 9,000-lb. mini excavators. The 48-in. deck fits 10,000 to 15,000-lb. machines, and the 60-in. deck fits 15,000 to 19,000-lb. machines. Weights for the three models range from 480 to 1,000 lbs. Decks are quarter-inch reinforced steel.
“Quarter-inch steel is the thinnest metal on our rotary cutters,” says Minyard. “The only thing that will wear out is the blades.”
Minyard stresses that Bushmaster rotary cutters are built in the U.S. with high-quality components. The only exception is a tapered bolt they have been unable to find domestically.
“The rest of our bolts are made in Michigan, our blades in Tennessee, our bearings in Indiana and our hydraulic motors in Mississippi,” says Minyard. “We do everything else here.”
“We know which of our rotary cutters fits which mini excavator,” says Minyard. “Tell us what you have, and we will sell you the one that fits. If you want a 60-in. rotary cutter for a machine built to handle a 42, we won’t sell it. That’s just asking for trouble.”
List prices for the three models range from $7,833 to $9,166. “Check with your local dealer and you’ll get a lower price,” advises Minyard.
Two dealers in Alabama and one in Florida also sell the rotary cutters online.
