Gravity Wagon Gate Opener
My "Easy Opener"foropening gravity wagon gates is a handy tool to have around. I came up with the idea at the co-op elevator where I work. It's made out of 3/4-in. pipe and is about 3 ft. long. It's bent to fit the curve of the gate opening wheel. There's a 3 by 4-in. piece of angle iron welded to one side of the pipe. It fits over the top of the wheel. A 3-in. long, 3/4-in. solid shaft welds to the bottom of the pipe and hooks onto the wheel spoke. Because the tool doesn't fit permanently tothe wheel, it can be used on more than one wagon. They really save a lot of time and aggravation. I plan to sell them for about $20 apiece or would license them to a manufacturer.
