Auto Lift Best Buy
“I bought one to work on my cars and farm equipment,” Schaeffer says. “It’s worked perfectly.”
There was one minor problem when he first bought the lift and prepared to set it up in his barn. The relay had a stripped screw hole on it.
“I called National Auto Tools and, with no questions asked, they threw another one in the mail to me,” he says. “The customer service was great.”
National Auto Tool has several types of lifts in different sizes and shapes. The model Schaeffer bought was a two-post lift that handles up to 10,000 lbs.
“I mentioned to my wife the other day I was glad I bought it when I did,” he says. “I paid $1,750 for it, and the lift now retails for $3,450, which includes free shipping to the lower 48 states.”
The lift wasn’t difficult to install, but Schaefer was worried it might be too heavy for his shop foundation.
“It only required a 4-in. foundation, and I had that already,” Schaeffer says. “I had a couple of friends come over, and we installed it in my barn. The hardest part was drilling holes in the cement.”
He’s hoisted all of his cars on the lift successfully. “I have a Dodge Ram that weighs almost 9,000 lbs., plus other cars, a tractor, a Deere Gator, and a zero-turn mower that’s been up there too,” he says.
“I rigged up a couple of boards for the mower that I can put across the lift,” he says. “That way, I can roll the mower up onto it.”
Schaefer says having his own lift and the ability to work on his vehicles has saved him a lot of time and money.
“If I didn’t have it, I’d have to take them in to get work done, and I’m also getting too old to crawl under vehicles,” he says with a laugh.
The lift has a single-point lock release for faster utilization. It also has 3-stage arms to provide excellent reach on a wide variety of vehicles.
There’s an overhead bar for cables and hoses to keep the floor clear under the vehicle. It also includes a power unit/motor and floor mounting hardware.
