Hydraulic Trap Eliminates Hand Cranking

Unloading hopper bottom trailers doesn’t have to be a hand-cranking proposition when the rig is fitted with an EZ Flow Hydraulic Trap. Produced by Thunderstone Manufacturing, the patented EZ Flow uses a single 12-volt hydraulic motor to open and close the trailer’s slide. The trap can be feathered or fully opened in 15 seconds and closed in 11 seconds using a multi-function handheld remote from the semi-cab or the mounted keypad on the side of the trailer.
EZ Flow kits are available for Timpte, Wilson, and Cornhusker model trailers. The EZ Flow mounts to a trailer with heavy-duty reinforced brackets that handle any type of commodity from grain to high-density frac sand. Ground clearance of the Ag Hopper model is 25 in., 20 1/2 in. for the Hi-Flow, and 17 in. for the Split Tub. Options include removable and permanent vibrators, full double knock rails, and a sight glass window. Doors can have a single-speed direct drive, a 2-speed gear drive, a gravity flow belt drive, or a hydraulic drive.
In the event of an electrical failure, the system can be converted to manual operation. Prices vary depending on trailer size and options, contact the company for a quote. A 3-year warranty is standard.
