NDY (Not Dead Yet) Manufacturing, a family-owned and operated business in Bonfield, Ill., sells a wide range of fabricated products for industrial and agricultural companies, including two styles of GPS Globe locks for the Deere 6000 series StarFire.
The Deere StarFire 6000 replaces the StarFire 3000 and offers an improved antenna, the best Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) technology available, and a differential correction signal. It provides improved performance and cost savings, especially when paired with AutoTrac-assisted steering and Deere Section Control. Pricing varies but often tops $10,000. NDY Manufacturing’s GPS globe lock is the company’s response to numerous requests for an owner protection system.
NDY Manufacturing’s GPS Globe Lock protects your investment by deterring would-be thieves. It includes a locking bracket, a push-to-close lock, and two keys. The 2-lb. unit measures 8 in. by 8 in. by 3 in. and costs $58. “The push to lock connects to the latch of the lock to the lip of the globe, preventing it from being raised to be removed,” says Kelly Christiansen, NDY representative. “It comes with a set of keys different from Deere’s keys.”
Another option is their Hinged Globe Lock, which measures 12 in. by 12 in. by 6 in. and includes a hinged locking bracket with hardware and space brushings (padlock not included). The heftier design weighs 8 lbs. and costs $185. Says Christiansen, “The hinged design was created to allow our customers to provide their own lock. We’re currently the only manufacturer with models where our customers can provide their own locks.
“Our team is currently working on locks for Deere’s 3000 series that will be released soon,” she says. “We’re also working on Deere’s 7000 series. We hope these locks protect our farmers’ equipment from thieves looking to make something off the people providing such an essential service.”
