Heavy-Built Post Puller
Built in just eight hours for $300 by Karl Johnston, the post puller's main frame is built from a fork lift. Its hydraulic jaws are off a Caterpillar loader and its big vertical lift ram is off an old bulldozer.
It operates by backing up to the post, clamping onto it with the jaws, and activating the lift ram. The lift ram raises up the post with no need to use the tractor 3-pt. hitch, so no strain is put on the tractor.
Johnston used the post puller to pull over 10,000 posts and strainers in its first year of operation.
