Happy Hen offers a solution with its new Silo Feeders and Silo Fountains, introduced in 2023. The 9 and 12-gal. sizes are ideal for 12 to 15 chickens. Feeders hold 50 to 65 lbs. of feed.
“They don’t have a vacuum seal design, so you can refill from the top anytime. They sit up off the ground (6 1/4 in. high), which can help prevent dirt and debris from getting in,” says Monica Burkey, director of marketing.
The transparent, corrosive-resistant plastic is UV-treated for outdoor use and shows the water and feed levels. Fountains have a float valve and two water level options.
Cost is $100 and $120 for the two sizes. Silo feeders and fountains can be purchased through Happy Hen’s website and other online and retail stores.
