Low Cost Chopper Handles 7 Ft Bales
Priced at $9,700, the new Model 7-16 is available in a fully trailered model, or a 3 pt. model with load-bearing wheels. "It's equally adept at bedding livestock with straw or waste paper, or chopping hay for feed," says the manufacturer.
It's equipped with three discharge points łone on either side and one at the rear which can be equipped with an optional blower and spout for filling directly into a mixer or grinder.
To ensure low start-up torque, a hydraulically operated center lift disc raises the bale clear of the rotor, allowing it to be easily engaged and revved up to full speed before the bale is lowered onto the chopping knives. By increasing pto input speed from 540 to 1000 rpm, the machine's cutting rotor performs a dual chopping-blowing function. It'll blow material through the rear discharge port and 50 ft. of hose with ease.
