Made of hard plastic, the new mailbox can be mounted on any conventional mailbox stand. It measures 10 1/2 in. high by 24 in. long and is colored bright yellow with a green lid and red flag.
"The yellow mailbox is so bright that you can see it a quarter mile away with no problem," says Layden. "We recommend adding a piece of plywood to the base for extra strength."
Sells for $34.95. A metal cornstalk mail-box stand is also available on a limited custom-built basis. The mailbox and corn-stalk stand sell together for $100.
