Readers frequently ask if these innovative units are available in North America. Now a Texas company is marketing an Italian-made mini round baler that makes 3-ft. wide, 2-ft. dia. round bales. A 3-pt. mini bale wrapper is also available. The R500 baler makes easy-to-handle bales weighing 40 to 100 lbs., depending on hay density. The baler has a fixed chamber equipped with steel rolls. A siren sounds once the bale hits a pre-set density. It takes only three seconds to net wrap and then eject the bale. The net wrap is started by simply pulling a rope (automatic bale wrap is optional). The baler sells for $9,098. The plastic bale wrapper sells for $4,200.
