Slip-In Hitch Hooks Up To Goosenecks
The ball-type gooseneck hitch consists of a sliding frame that fits the bed of any full-size 3/4 or 1-ton pickup, lengthening or shortening to fit around wheel wells. The arms at either end of the hitch pivot, swinging up under the lip of the pickup box where they're held in place by ropes and the weight of the trailer, which simply wedges the hitch more tightly against the pickup box.
"It'll shift just slightly ù maybe 1/4 in. ù but that's nothing when compared to the hassle and inconvenience of modifying your pickup to install a ball hitch," says Saylor, noting that the Husa Hitch is designed to handle any load the pickup can handle. It sells for $350.
