Deep Placement Of Dry Fertilizer Made Easy
It's mounted on a specially-made chisel plow and is designed to deep place (6 to 8 in. deep) up to 800 lbs. of granular nutrients per acre in 12 or 15
in. wide bands, and at speeds up to 7 mph. "With this spacing, every corn plant will have its roots within 7 1/2 in. of the fertilizer band," explains Merril Crees, Wil-Rich sales rep. "Dry fertilizer is distributed by air for uniform application along the chisel's entire 24 ft. width. We could adapt the deep placement system to a 30 ft. wide chisel plow if you have sufficient power to pull it," Crees points out.
