24-Row Planter Folds To 15.5 Ft.
"We field tested it on 4,000 acres in '76. The bugs are out of it and it's ready to go," says L. Eugene Smith, of Smith Farms, Lebanon, Ind., inventor and manufacturer of this rear-folding toolbar planter which is available in a wide variety of units and row spacings up to 24 30-in. rows. Folds to 15.5 ft. transport width in five minutes. Toolbar for 24 rows (30 in. spacing) retails for $14,800, not including planter units. Accommodates Deere, IH Cyclo and other makes of planters.
Field planting width for 24 30-in. rows is 60 ft. Planter can be equipped with squeeze pumps and monitors and has good flexibility to fit ground contours. Marker system folds hydraulically for field transport.
