Heavy-Duty Magnet Lifts 225 Pounds
What do you do if you drop an expensive wrench down a well? Or into a liquid manure pit?
The answer usually is, "Forget it."
But no longer do you need to say "goodbye" to tools or other metal objects lost in wells, pits, or other hard-to-reach places. There's a new powerful magnet on the market that will seek out iron objects and retrieve them for you. And that includes heavy items weighing up to 225 lbs.
Master Magnetics, Castle Rock, Colo., offers retriever magnets with lifting capacity of 50, 100, 150, and 225 lbs.
Company president Jack Nellessen says the big magnets have dozens of other uses, such as recovering tools from manure pits or wells, from ponds or lakes, or holding a third tool when both hands are full.
The company also has introduced a magnetic plate to pull metal out of feed when it passes over. The Retriever is 2 in. wide, 2 1/2 in. high, and 5 in. long. It has a 1/4 in. eyebolt for fastening it to a chain or piece of equipment. Guaranteed to keep its magnetism for a lifetime, it sells for $26.95.
