"Moisture levels change throughout the day. By monitoring bale weight, you can adjust bale chamber tension as the day goes on to make uniform bales and avoid heavy hot bales, or light sloppy bales," says George Fenn.
The scale consists of a weight transmitter attached to the bale chute and a dial positioned in a convenient location on the baler or in the tractor.
Scale weights range from 30 to 160 lbs. System requires no modification of baler except for replacement of the bale chute support chain and chain mount.
System takes about two hours to install and will fit most straight balers. Fenn plans to introduce a model for kicker balers later this year.
Scale sells for $189.
