It's equipped with a built-in scale mechanism which is located just below the handle. The weight indicator needle travels in a protected, easy-to-read channel at the top of the back end of the scoop, making it easy to immediately see whether there's too little or too much feed in the scoop for the particular animal or pen being fed.
