Room Organizers Tidy Up Loose Ends
"I got the idea one day when I found my daughter's winter mittens and caps in a piled-up mess in a closet. I decided there had to be a better way to organize," says Rose Virnig, Morris, Minn. who's begun marketing a room organizer called "Hang-Ups".
The new household accessory is simply a 17 by 34-in. metal frame that's criss-crossed with a grid of steel wire. Sturdy clips that hook anywhere on the frame are used like jumbo clothes pins to hold everything ranging from mittens and gloves to shoes, caps, baseball mitts, frisbees, and so on. The Hang-Up frame is made to hang from a wall, the back of a door, or even horizontally from a ceiling with four cords, which is a great way to dry wet mittens or gloves over a wood stove, notes Virnig. When hung against a wall or door, the metal frame is held away from the wall by 1-in. thick spacers.
Each unit holds as many as 75 clips. "The more people who see it, the more uses we come up with. It's great in the house, garage, shop or barn," notes Virnig. Hang-Ups sell for $15.95, plus $3 shipping.
