The guidance unit consists simply of a painted steel ball rolling back and forth in a clear liquid inside a clear 1 1/8-in. dia. plastic tube. The device mounts behind the front axle. All you have to do is keep the ball directly over the row to keep your cultivator in line. Manufacturer Grant Hustad says the unit is adjustable so you can adapt it to your particular cultivator by changing the steepness of the curve in the tube.
