Manure agitator slips through slats MANURE HANDLING Equipment 10-2-25 A manure pit agitator slim enough to slip through narrow 1? in. slat openings is new from the Lien Co. in Holland.
The rectangular stirring blade (about 5 in. high and 39 in. long) revolves at 32 rpm. It's driven by a 1.5 hp electric motor hooked direct to a 45:1 gearbox.
A hand-operated winch raises and lowers the motor-blade assembly. The agitator blade lowers to a depth of 5 ft. below the slatted floor and effectively stirs within a 12-ft. radius at each setting. Wheels allow one person to easily move the device wheelbarrow-style from one site to the next.
