"It does a nice, even job over the entire hoof unlike some trimming discs with fewer cutting edges," says Vis. "Because it has so many cutting edges it really works more like a rasp than a cutter. The carbide-tipped bits are spread over the entire blade so in operation it has a nice balanced feel. The bits will last a long time, depending on the amount of use, and can be sharpened with a professional bench grinder. To replace the bits you use a torch to heat them up and remove them, then sodder the new bit into a groove next to the hole." Sells for $295 (Canadian) plus S&H.
