Turbine-Powered Pond Mills MISCELLANEOUS EQUIPMENT Miscellaneous 21-1-37 FARM SHOW readers familiar with our turbine-powered pond mills may be interested to learn that we've got a new simpler, lighter and more economical model out. The Savonious # 103 uses a series of air scoops to direct drive the system's underwater propeller, instead of the turbine which drives the propeller through a gearbox on our two earlier models. It features the same drawing capacity - down to 33 ft. - as our turbine-driven models, and nearly as good efficiency. Needs a 10 mph wind to operate, compared with 6 mph for the turbine models.
