Burner Covers For Electric Stoves
New cast-iron covers for electric burner elements make clean-up easier and improve the appearance of your stove, according to the manufacturer, American Kitchens.Available in 9 and 7-in. dia. models, burner covers simply rest on top of existing elements and can be lifted off at any time for cleaning. A circular ridge underneath the flat surface rests on top of the heating element support bars. Because the covers are made of cast-iron, company president Gordon Rogers says the burners will heat more evenly at settings 1/3 below normal.
The 7-in. dia. covers sell for $15.95 apiece and the 9-in. covers for $17.95 ($3 shipping and handling per unit).
