When it comes to plowing snow with a pickup, no one does it more efficiently than Peter Coronis of Raymond, N. H., who recently sent FARM SHOW photos of a Dodge 3/4-ton 4-WD pickup equipped with a front-mount bucket.
Coronis operates a custom fabrication shop and a custom snowplowing business.
"Using a loader bucket on a pickup is a lot handier than using a tractor because you can travel at highway speeds," says Coronis. "The bucket mounts on standard Fisher snow-plow lift arms and uses existing hydraulic cylinders. It's about 4 in. wider than the pickup wheels and has a capacity of just under two yards. You can raise it 3 to 4 ft. off the ground. Power is supplied by a 20 gpm hydraulic pump that mounts under the hood, controlled by a toggle switch inside the cab."
Coronis says he builds the pickup bucket on a custom basis only.
