If you own a side roll irrigation system, you'll be interested in Pneu-Way Corporation's new pneumatic mover. It moves side roll irrigation systems from the end rather than having to go to the center of the system to start the engine.

The power source is a small single stage air compressor that can be located at the well site, mounted on a trailer, or carried in a pickup truck. The system mounts quickly and easily and is adaptable to any hydraulic side roll mover, L. R. Townsend, vice president, told FARM SHOW. Forward and reverse movement is easily controlled by a valve mounted at the end of the pipeline.

Townsend notes that a unique rotating union located in the pipeline allows the pipe to rotate without winding up the air lines. One air line powers the drive unit; a second line controls forward and reverse direction. The tandem air/oil cylinder mounts quickly and easily to any hydraulic mover. This unit replaces the gasoline engine and hydraulic pump on standard hydraulic drives. Direction of the system is easily controlled by a pneumatic cylinder attached to the hydraulic valve on the existing hydraulic system.
